We are thrilled to announce that we have received a grant as part of a German-Armenian cooperation call, funded by the Science Committee of the Republic of Armenia (RA) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The consortium includes the Institute of Molecular Biology of the National Academy of Sciences (Armenia), Leipzig University (Germany), Russian-Armenian University (Armenia), and VIB-KU Leuven (Belgium).
The project, titled “Digital Life Sciences for Genome-Based Healthcare,” aims to harness the power of technology and innovation in life sciences to facilitate genome-based healthcare. It will focus on three major directions:
- Omics bioinformatics for health, with an emphasis on pathway analyses at single-cell resolution
- Establishment of a data sharing and analysis platform for genomic data from Armenia, called Life Bank
- A research school that offers a qualification program for young scientists
Stay tuned for more updates on the project in the next 2 years.
