From June 12th to 14th, 2024, the “Genome Bioinformatics for Health” workshop will take place at Ostwald-Park in Großbothen, near Leipzig. This event, part of a collaboration between Armenia and Germany, aims to advance healthcare through genome research. Organized by the Institute of Molecular Biology of Armenia (IMB), the Armenian Bioinformatics Institute (ABI), and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Bioinformatics at the University of Leipzig (IZBI), the workshop will feature presentations on various topics in genome bioinformatics. The workshop will cover a range of subjects, including wound healing, computational immunology, and cancer research. Key speakers, such as Arsen Arakelyan from IMB and Henry Loeffler-Wirth from IZBI, will present their latest findings. Other sessions will focus on medical informatics, melanoma research, and the bioinformatics of Armenian grapevines, showcasing the wide applications of bioinformatics.
Supported by the Armenian State Committee of Science, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST), this workshop highlights the importance of international scientific cooperation. Participants will engage in team-building activities and discussions, fostering collaboration between researchers from both countries.
